Fitts Village Beach, Barbados.

Of all the time I have been living in Barbados. I have only been to Fitts Village Beach twice. And that’s twice, within about 3 weeks. And that’s because I had such a good time the first time I went, I had to return.
The first time around, I went because of a work picnic and a last-minute venue change. You see, the picnic was originally scheduled for Folkestone Beach. However, Folkestone Beach is very popular, and as such, it was full on that day. So much so, we couldn’t get a parking spot or a picnic spot. So we had to move on, and thus, Fitts Village Beach happened.
Nonetheless, the picnic was an epically awesome outing put together by some equally awesome workmates and friends. We had the full nine yards of (Bajan) Barbadian picnicking. Yes, Barbadians are colloquially called Bajans.
Naturally, we had macaroni pie, rice and peas, salads, baked chicken, fried chicken and a whole lot more. Plus, you can’t forget the drinks, drinks and more drinks. Once a Bajan goes picnicking, we definitely have to take along a football, a volleyball, a cricket bat, and a ball to play some beach cricket. That reminds me, I gotta pick up a new cricket bat.
On the other hand, for the second trip to Fitts Village Beach, I took my cooler filled with ice-cold beer, my camera gear and my fold-up chair and spent an afternoon just enjoying the beach. Also, I made some content for Instagram. I’ll be sure to post a link somewhere on this site.

Where is Fitts Village Beach located?

Fitts Village Beach is located in the parish of St.James, right on the west coast of Barbados, also known as the Platinum Coast. It’s exactly opposite Jordan’s Supermarket in Fitts Village. It is just north of Prospect and south of Paynes Bay. This is on a main road (Highway 1), so heading north, the Good Shepherd Church is on your left, and Jordan’s Supermarket is on your right.
Why visit Fitts Village Beach?
Fitts Village Beach isn’t like some of the other touristy beaches in Barbados. Fitts Village Beach is cooler, laid back, and more in a natural state than, let’s say, Brownes Beach or Pebbles Beach. Additionally, there are no long rows of beach chairs or beach bars. No vendors are trying to sell you stuff, and no crowds. This beach is the perfect choice for those who want to kick back, relax, and enjoy some amazing tropical scenery.
